About Klekta Collective

We are an informal collective, supporting anti-authoritarian and libertarian groups in organizing events that need to be understood in many languages.

We deliver equipment (so called Spiders with microphones and headphones) that enables simultaneous interpretation. We also help with organizing interpretation during the events and in arranging the space in a way that could be beneficial for multilingual meetings.

We want to work outside hierarchies, basing our activities on consent, self-organizing and skill sharing. We want to use our equipment as a tool that enables groups and individuals to converge in order to abolish capitalism (and change the world!).

We support grassroots groups that aim at creating non-hierarchical, anti-authoritarian structures. Groups that promote diversity, equality, social justice and want to co-create a world in which all persons have same possibilities and freedoms. We also support groups that are acting to save the environment or in defense of animals (including humans).

We are not interested in commercial events, we don’t work with political parties or NGO’s funded from ethically questionable sources.

We are based in warsaw, poland and we want to support interpretation at events in the eastern and southeastern europe, where it’s more difficult to get hold of interpretation support technology.

Although we treat the things we do seriously, we are not professionals. We don’t believe in professionalism.

WHAT WE HAVE

We have portable equipment for simultaneous translations, called Spider. We also have microphones for interpreters and headphones for people who need interpretation. This technology is helpful in organizing any kind of multilingual meetings (where more than one language is in use), in which from 6 to 50 people take part (hard version is up to 90 people).

ESTABLISHING NEW GROUPS

Klekta collective has one more goal. We want the technology to spread, so that in every corner of the world talking in our own language was not a barrier to participation. We are already part of an european network of collectives that use similar technology, exchange experiences and help in building equipment. If you want to create a group in your city, country or region that will build their own Spiders, contact us or do it from the available sources. DIY or DIE!
